The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA, Minister: Song Mi-ryeong) and KOTRA (President: Kang Kyung-sung) successfully held the "2025 Southeast Asia Smart Farm Roadshow" from June 9 to 13 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and Vientiane, Laos. During the event, Korean companies achieved 171 export consultations and secured $14.72 million in potential contracts, proving the export potential of K-Smart Farms.

This roadshow aimed to accelerate the expansion of Korean smart farms into Southeast Asia and establish sustainable agricultural partnerships through cooperation models tailored to local needs. K-Smart Farms, which combine precision agriculture technologies and automation solutions, represent a high-value-added model. Fueled by the global popularity of K-Food, interest in future agricultural industries such as smart farms and agricultural machinery is spreading across Southeast Asia. As Southeast Asian countries shift towards smart agriculture, K-Smart Farms are being recognized as practical technological solutions.

Korean smart farming technologies are internationally acclaimed for enabling stable crop production while ensuring energy efficiency. Facing challenges such as climate change and food security, Southeast Asian nations are experiencing rising demand for advanced agricultural technologies. K-Smart Farms are emerging as leading solutions in this field.

Sixteen Korean smart farm companies participated in the event, engaging in various programs such as export business meetings, the Korea-Laos Sustainable Growth Forum, and on-site visits. One-on-one business meetings featured companies offering a wide range of smart farm solutions, including control systems, cultivation facilities, smart farming equipment, LED technologies, and water purification systems—resulting in 171 consultations with local buyers.
