KOTRA (President Kang Kyung-sung) hosted the “2025 Indonesia K-Smart City Roadshow” in Surabaya, Indonesia, from May 8 to 9. The event was part of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s initiative to support smart city exports and included participation from the Busan Port Authority (President Song Sang-geun) and eight Korean ICT companies.

KOTRA organized a range of programs for Indonesian local government officials, buyers, and project initiators, including the Korea-Indonesia Smart City Forum, one-on-one project consultations, and a Korea Pavilion at the Indonesia City Expo.

This roadshow coincided with the annual general assembly of the Indonesian Municipal Government Association (APEKSI), which represents 98 cities nationwide and facilitates urban development and policy cooperation. Mayors and high-ranking officials from major cities like Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, and Makassar attended the event and were introduced to Korea’s cutting-edge ICT technologies.

On May 8, the Korea-Indonesia Smart City Forum featured presentations from the eight Korean ICT firms, showcasing their innovations and overseas project cases. On May 9, the Korea Pavilion at the Indonesia City Expo drew attention from 42 local governments and prominent buyers, leading to 75 project consultation meetings. The event served as a valuable opportunity for Korean companies to explore partnerships and contribute to Indonesia’s smart city development.
