In his welcome address, Dae-Young Seo recalled the hardships and dedication of the first Korean immigrants who arrived in Hawaii on January 13, 1903. He stated, "Today, we honor the sacrifices and achievements of our ancestors while striving to further develop the alliance between Korea and the United States."
Consul General Seo-Young Lee, in her speech, highlighted Hawaii’s contribution to Korea’s independence movement and expressed gratitude for the role the Korean-American community plays intrengthening the Korea-U.S. alliance. President Jung-Il Seo reiterated the importance of the Korea-U.S. alliance and urged the overseas Korean community to fulfill their role as civilian diplomats.
