In celebration of its 80th anniversary, the Taekwondo Moodukkwan (President Song Bong-seop, Central Director Lee Ju-hwan, Head Instructor Oh No-gyun) has established the "Taekwondo Moodukkwan World Headquarters (TMWH)" and is forming a steering committee.

The committee, which includes Moodukkwan veterans, representatives from various countries, international instructors, women, and international lawyers, is expected to be formed in November. Guy Larke, a Taekwondo journalist from Canada, has been appointed as Secretary-General.

On the 30th, in celebration of Moodukkwan's 79th anniversary, representatives from seven countries—South Korea, the United States, Denmark, Iran, Canada, Morocco, and Hong Kong—signed the founding declaration, joined by Central Director Oh No-gyun, Chungcheongnam-do Provincial Assemblyman Kim Bok-man, Daejeon Metropolitan Councilor Park Jong-sun, Daejeon Dong-gu Council Vice Chairman Kang Jung-kyu, overseas Korean instructor representative Moon Myung-gon (Hong Kong), and U.S. international instructor Tim McHugh.

In 1945, Director Hwang Ki founded Moodukkwan with the principles of sincerity, holiness, and justice. In 1947, he dispatched instructors Nam Sam-hyun and Lim Myung-soon to Daejeon, where they taught Tang Soo Do in places such as the Daejeon station field, yards, and warehouses.

This early Tang Soo Do Moodukkwan eventually laid the foundation for the global spread of Taekwondo, which is now practiced by over 100 million people in 211 countries. We have gathered again under the laurel flag, a symbol of peace, on this sole remaining training ground. We pledge to honor and carry forward the pure and noble spirit of the pioneering masters, declaring as follows:

◯ We declare this as the World Headquarters of Taekwondo Moodukkwan, aiming to preserve and revive it as a Mecca of global martial arts.

◯ We inherit and unite under the 80-year legacy of Moodukkwan, contributing to world peace and promoting health and friendship among members for the betterment of humankind.

◯ Through participation in the "International Martial Arts Olympiad" and events such as the "World Moodukkwan Festival," we act in the Spirit of Brotherhood, sharing genuine friendship.
