The Korean Cultural Center in Spain (Director Shin Jae-gwang, hereinafter referred to as the Center), as part of the “2025 Korea Season in Spain,” successfully concluded its guest country program at La Mar de Músicas, one of Spain’s leading cultural festivals, in cooperation with the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (President Park Chang-sik, hereinafter referred to as the Foundation) and the Cartagena City Council.

La Mar de Músicas is a major summer cultural festival in Spain, attracting 40,000 visitors and more than 40 music acts from around the world every year. Each year, it designates a guest country to showcase a variety of cultural and artistic content, including music, literature, film, and visual arts. This year, Korea drew significant attention from both Cartagena and the broader Spanish public as the first East Asian country to be named the guest of honor.

The festival began on July 18 with a performance by LEENALCHI, followed by a diverse lineup of Korean music including fusion gugak (Jambinai, CHUDAHYE CHAGIS, Dal:um), indie music (W24, Sunwoo Jung-a), jazz (Youn Sun Nah), electronic music (Fat Hamster & Kang New), hip-hop (Hypnosis Therapy), and K-pop (Bewave).

Local music critic Miguel Tebar said, “I felt chills seeing everyone united under the traditional Korean melodies,” expressing deep admiration for the Korean musicians’ stage presence and artistic excellence.
