On November 2, the ‘2024 K-Community Festival’ was held successfully at the YES24 Live Hall in Seoul’s Gwangjin District. The event was hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Yoo In-chon) and organized by the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (Director Park Chang-sik), with sponsorship from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation.
This year’s K-Community Festival featured thrilling performances by popular K-pop artists such as SF9, BEBE, and EPEX, alongside the winning teams of the K-Community Challenge. Mentors including the musical group Akdangwangchil, Taekwoncre, and Biseul Dance Company also joined in creating an energetic show. Hallyu fans from all over the world enjoyed the festival both in person and via a live stream on the Korea.net YouTube channel.
The Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange launched the K-Community Challenge from August 22 to September 27, allowing global Hallyu enthusiasts to learn about and enjoy Korean culture. Marking its sixth year, the K-Community Challenge held competitions in four categories: Joseon Pop, Taekwon Dance, Sogo Dance, and Korean Cuisine. This year, Hallyu clubs from 47 countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa joined the challenge, generating widespread enthusiasm.
