KOTRA (President Kang Kyung-sung) formed a Korean pavilion at the 'Global Energy Show (GES)' held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada for three days from June 10 (local time) and supported nine domestic energy equipment companies to enter the North American market.
GES is Canada's largest energy exhibition, which marks its 55th anniversary this year. More than 400 companies from around the world participated and six countries operated national pavilions. This year, about 35,000 people attended the event, sharing the latest technologies and flows in the global energy market.
Since 2023, when the existing oil and gas-oriented exhibition was reorganized into an integrated energy exhibition that includes nuclear power plants, hydrogen, and renewable energy, this year's Korean Pavilion was the largest ever. Nine companies, including LS Electro-Mechanics, Samyoung Fitting, and Hwaseong Valve, participated to promote the technology and product competitiveness of each company and actively consult with local buyers.
Samyoung Fitting, a company specializing in forging fittings, has participated in exhibitions for three consecutive years and continued on-site marketing, resulting in a total of $1.1 million worth of supply contracts with global retailers. This is seen as a sign of a substantial foray into the conservative Canadian energy industry.
