KOTRA (President: Kang Kyung-sung) and Lotte successfully held the "Korea Brand Expo in Europe" in Paris, France, from April 30 to May 13, supporting Korean SMEs in entering the European market. The event resulted in export consultations worth $63.96 million (approximately KRW 90.8 billion).

The "Korea Brand Expo" began in 2016 as a Lotte Home Shopping initiative to help SMEs expand overseas and was elevated in 2022 as Lotte Group’s flagship shared growth program. Co-hosted by KOTRA, Lotte, and the Korea Commission for Corporate Partnership, this year’s expo was held in Paris, a European business hub, for the first time. It was also the second such event in Europe following a 2022 expo in Germany, driven by continuous demand from participating companies.

The 2024 expo included large-scale activities such as a B2C promotional event linked to Europe’s largest consumer fair, B2B export consultations with buyers from 13 European countries, and mobile live broadcasts from Paris. Reflecting the record-breaking $10.2 billion in Korean cosmetics exports last year, 60% of the participating firms were beauty companies.

Fifty Korean SMEs participated alongside about 100 buyers from 13 countries—including France, Germany, and Spain—sourced via KOTRA’s European trade offices. A total of 511 consultation sessions resulted in $63.96 million worth of potential deals. Over 80% of local buyers expressed strong intent to pursue contracts, suggesting these discussions will soon convert into actual exports.
