
The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (MCST, Minister Yoo In-chon) and the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO, Acting President Seo Young-chung), in collaboration with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), will host the Korea-OECD Tourism and AI Forum on February 6 at the Hwabaek Convention Center in Gyeongju, both online and offline. Vice Minister Jang Mi-ran will attend to welcome domestic and international experts and tourism industry representatives.
This forum marks Korea’s upcoming role as the 2025 APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Chair and is being held in Gyeongju, the host city of the 2025 APEC Summit. The event will explore the impact of AI technologies on the tourism industry, analyzing opportunities, risks, and challenges while discussing strategic responses for governments, businesses, and tourism destinations.
Participants will include tourism policy experts from major international organizations such as the OECD, the European Travel Commission (ETC), and the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA). Additionally, representatives from Destination Management Organizations (DMOs) in Italy, Canada, and Australia will join tourism industry leaders from Booking.com, NOAH, and Ground-K, engaging in a dynamic discussion with over 100 attendees.
