Small and medium-sized export companies dispatched by Chungcheongnam-do achieved significant results at China’s first and largest trade exhibition, holding nearly $40 million in consultations and securing agreements exceeding $6 million in just five days.
On the 5th, Chungcheongnam-do announced that from October 31 to November 4, they concluded export agreements (MOU) totaling $6.36 million at the 136th China Import and Export Fair (Autumn Phase 3) held at the Canton Fair Convention Center in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China.
Since its inception in 1957, the China Import and Export Fair has been China’s first and largest trade fair, organized by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce twice a year (in three phases) each spring and autumn.
The exhibition drew 30,000 companies and 260,000 buyers from 220 countries. Chungcheongnam-do and the Chungnam Business Agency established the Chungcheongnam-do Pavilion at the fair, facilitating market expansion efforts for the province’s small and medium-sized export companies.
Twenty participating companies, which produce and sell items such as health supplements like red ginseng, seafood processed products like seasoned seaweed, cosmetics, and household goods, showcased their products and engaged in export consultations with local buyers at the pavilion.
On the first day of the exhibition, October 31, Governor Kim Tae-heum, the “Number One Salesperson of Chungcheongnam-do,” visited the site to encourage business representatives and personally promote the products to buyers.
During the five-day exhibition, provincial companies conducted a total of 282 export consultations, amounting to $39.14 million, and successfully concluded export agreements totaling $6.36 million.
